I can’t say I’ve ever really been big on mineral makeup and don’t really have a collection. For some strange reason, if I’m going to be completely honest, I’ve never really seen the appeal and thought it was a bit of a gimmick. When I was recently invited to a Nude by Nature event, a new brand to my beauty radar, I decided to branch out and see what all the fuss was about.
Nude by Nature is a cruelty free, mineral makeup brand, who say that we spend a lot of time trying to be good. Trying to be good with fitness, finding the right food and buying the best skincare products full of amazing ingredients. So why don’t we look for good ingredients in our makeup? And they’re right, I’d never thought about this before and couldn’t agree more. It’s also made me re-evaluate some of the products I’ve been using on my face.
Sorry about the boring disclaimer again, but I’m very fortunate to receive PR samples and products for review. Nude by Nature gifted me a number of products without any expectation of a review. I decided to provide a review for you because a) they’re rose gold and b) after trying the makeup for a couple of months, I have to say it’s actually pretty good! Read on for an in-depth review of all the Nude by Nature products.
The base products
Let’s get straight into it, as Nude by Nature have been voted Australia’s #1 natural cosmetic brand, I had high hopes for the base products. The Luminous sheer liquid foundation is hydrating and lightweight. It’s also packed with vitamins and helps to fight visible signs of ageing. I would certainly say this foundation is sheer/light coverage but it is buildable without being cakey. It has a little bit of a dewy finish, which I’m not really used to, but can be mattified with setting powder.
Talking about setting powders, Nude by Nature has some amazing finely milled setting powders. I really like the translucent loose finishing powder and it prolongs foundation wear and does not sink into fine lines. It also has an ingredient called Kakdu Plum which is known for it’s Vitamin C content, awesome right? Their powders are not cakey and do not settle into pores, they also set makeup extremely well and I really enjoy using them!
The Perfecting primer is great and provides luminosity to the skin whilst smoothing out the appearance of large pores and texture. It feels hydrating and again is packed full of active natural ingredients to create the perfect base. The primer isn’t the best I’ve ever used, but if you’re looking for a new cruelty free primer that provides hydration and added benefits, then give it a go.
I can’t say I’ve ever really used an illuminator before, but I really like the Sheer light illuminator. It helps to put radiance back into your skin and is great at highlighting certain areas whilst providing dewiness. I like to apply this underneath highlighter on my cheekbones. It’s blends in really well and gives a subtle shimmer, which helps to create more of a natural highlighted look. I’ve used this quite a lot over the last couple of weeks and really like the natural glow it provides.
I love a good contour palette, I seem to be forever growing my collection. The Nude by Nature Contour palette did not disappoint, all three shades are matte, and provide natural looking shadows. Also the contour (ash brown shade) is prefect for my fair skin and is super blendable.
I’m not too sure on the middle orange tone because it doesn’t have any shimmer, so doesn’t seem to bronze up my face too well. But the banana powder and contour shade are perfect and a staple in my daily contour routine. Also, let’s just take a minute to appreciate the rose gold packaging, how could you not love it?
There are a couple of brushes I’ve fallen in love with by Nude by Nature too, especially the ultimate perfecting brush. This dense, flat brush, is amazing at contouring my nose and underneath my chin/jaw line. It provides great precision whilst still being able to blend.
I love the Nude by Nature highlight palette. I just need to say the words ROSE GOLD PACKAGING again. This is a highly pigmented but really blendable palette. The champagne/gold shade is perfect for my skin tone and provides an amazing glow. The middle shade has a rose hue which can be used as a blush or unique highlight.
The final shade is highly pigmented and could be used for bronzer if you have a darker complexion. For me, it’s too orange toned and something I can wear as a blush if I apply the smallest amount. Again, a versatile palette that is suitable for a range of skin colours.
Where do I even begin with these highlight sticks? I know I’ve mentioned before I’m not a huge fan of cream products as they can be quite hard to blend and leave streaks on your face. But these highlight sticks are incredible. They are soft, blendable and apply the correct amount of pigment. If I was to pick one shade, it would have to be champagne. They are also enriched with Vitamin E to help improve your complexion, honestly, what more could you ask for?
Yes, yes and yes! It doesn’t surprise me that Nude by Nature have been voted #1 natural makeup brand in Australia. The products are high quality, the packaging is incredible, did I mention rose gold? And all the products are infused with amazing high quality ingredients.
It’s a big thumbs up from me, I just want Nude by Nature to expand their collection into eyeshadow’s and lipsticks.
