Okay, so be prepared for overuse of the word “brows” multiple times in this post. I received the Benefit soft and natural set for Christmas, (you can see what else I got here), and have been using it for the past couple of weeks, so thought I should let you know my thoughts.
Benefit products have always been a feature in my collection for as long as I can remember, but I’ve never used their brow products before.
What’s in the Benefit soft and natural brow set?
Benefit Goof proof brow pencil (full size)
This is actually the perfect product to fill in your brows whilst leaving them looking natural. The Benefit Goof proof brow pencil is double-ended, one end with a spoolie and the other with the brow product. The actual pencil is surprisingly soft and not too waxy but still has great colour payoff. I would say it’s similar to Anastasia brow definer rather than Anastasia brow wiz. Or if you are from the UK and may use Soap & Glory Archery or NYX micro brow pencil, then the Goof proof brow pencil formula is a lot softer and quicker to fill in your brows.
If you’re looking for a Benefit alternative to Soap & Glory Archery or NYX micro brow pencil, I’d suggest trying precisely, my brow eyebrow pencil. I haven’t tried it but it’s certainly a similar forumla.
Benefit High brow pencil (full size)
A creamy brow highlighter which, when swatched is surprisingly pink, but blended out becomes a natural highlight (for fair skin). I’m not sure how this would work for darker skin tones! It has a new creamy formula which makes it a lot easier to blend and helps to lift the brow arch.
Benefit Ready, set, brow! (3.5ml)
Benefit state that this helps to set brows in place for 24 hours whilst taming any stray hairs. Although I do like this product, it does make my brows feel a little crispy (if that’s even if that’s a word to describe your brows – lol). Having said that it does help my brows stay in place all day, but I’m just not sure about the feeling of them.
Would I recommend it?
Yes, especially if you want to try the new benefit brows products or are a newbie to drawing on your brows. I really like Goof proof brow and it makes super easy work of filling in your brows, although I’m not a huge fan of the packaging.
Have you tried any of the new Benefit brow range? Let me know what brow products you love.
