I’m sure you know the drill with the “what I got for my birthday” type of posts by now, but just incase, this post is in no way me bragging or trying to show off. I really enjoy reading (and watching videos) of what people got for their birthday, mainly because I’m nosey, but also because I’m always on the look out for things to add to my wishlist!
As you’ve probably guessed, I’ve already tried most of the present by now, as my birthday was way over 2 weeks a go. But this won’t be in depth reviews of the products I got, if you do want me to review something particular, please feel free to tweet me or leave a comment down below.
I have an obsession with perfumes and am always looking to expand my collection. Jo Malone is one of my all time favourite perfume brands and luckily enough, my mum managed to get me Jo Malone Orange Blossom. This scent is fruity but also quite floral at the same time. It’s so summery and I think it pairs amazingly with White Jasmin & Mint.
All I can say for the next present is, the boy did SO good. The Tom Ford White Patchouli is something I’d never smelt before, but it’s divine! This was a complete surprise present and couldn’t have wished for anything more beautiful. If you like sultry scents with woody undertones, you should go and give this a sniff. Also just look at that packaging, insert *heart eyed emoji!*
I bloody love Nars, especially when they release amazing limited edition products. Can we just take a minute to appreciate this Dual Intensity Blush in Liberation! My mum managed to convince the lady in Space NK to sell it to her before they were “officially” on sale (she pulled out the beauty blogger card), how hilarious. I was a little sceptical of the brown blush on the right, but it’s absolutely stunning when applied, even on my pale skin! Apparently they can be worn wet or dry, I’ve only applied them with a dry blusher brush and the pigment/colour pay off is fantastic. Full review soon?
You can probably guess the theme here, yes I basically just received loads of makeup and skincare for my birthday, judge me! Anyway, I’ve wanted to try Chanel skincare for ages and my boyfriend managed to get his hands on two products from the range. The Lait confort creamy cleanser provides a deep cleanse and smells lovely. The Hydra Beauty lotion is amazing, it’s a gel like formula that turns to water texture once applied. It has been great to put back hydration into my dehydrated skin.
The Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer has been on my wishlist for ages and I’ve finally got my hands on it. First impressions is that it’s a watery consistency and provides great moisture under my eyes. A hyped product that hasn’t disappointed me! Can we also take a minute to appreciate that beautiful mac lipstick, in Amorous. Also, the Mac prep and prime base lumiere is an amazing eye primer, I’m yet to use it as a full face primer but will keep you updated on my thoughts!
If you didn’t read about my love for Amy in my Brighton post, then I’ll just recap. I randomly met this beautiful girl through blogging and we’ve become amazing friends. We both share birthdays around the same time (she’s a day older than me), and we both pretty much decided we had got to the present part of our friendship (lol). As you can probably see, she completely spoiled me. I’m so grateful to have met her. Not only did she get me the Zoeva Rose golden palette, I mean just look at those beautifully pigmented eyeshadows. But also, changed my makeup game by giving me a beauty blender! If that wasn’t enough, Amy also got me some amazing (instagram worthy) sunglasses and a rose gold pineapple.
Finally, I received Laura Mercier Loose setting powder, which has completely transformed my makeup game. I also got 2 Diptyque candles, Vanille my all time favourite and Baies. If you love candles, then please go and smell these! They are my all time favourite candle brand and fill the room with the most intense amazing scent.
I was also lucky to receive a few other presents after my birthday (which I didn’t get a chance to take pictures of), one from another amazing friend Jess which was a Korres Rose set, the smell is divine. I received a luxury Dermalogica facial (which was incredible) from my work friends. And finally a diptyque set from my old manager, who is an absolute babe, a full review will be coming soon on the set, it’s beautiful!
